System
---- Undertaken by Supresoft Inc.
| The IDL Based 3D Military Modeling & Simulation
System is a high-tech project concerning intelligentized simulation
and auxiliary battle-command and integrating such technologies
as the 3D geographic information system, the virtual reality
& simulation and command automatization, able to rapidly
and precisely create all kinds of battle geographic environments
and realistically |

simulate flying and collision of aircrafts in
3D battle environments. The major function and application goal of
this software is to conduct comprehensive processing and treatment
for a variety of scene data (such as remote sensing image data,
digital elevation model, vector element data and 2D/3D object data)
in the appointed region, to recover or reproduce the 3D scenes and
realize 3D browse at fixed times. During the roaming of 3D scenes,
modification and reproduction can be made in according with flying
routines and parameters of appointed aircrafts; as the given collision
evaluation rules are determined, corresponding evaluation results,
2D and 3D object editing results can be provided for collision of
flying aircrafts.
The fulfillment of this system satisfies the urgent requirements
for battle command simulation and automatization of our army, raising
its capability for dealing with all kinds of emergencies. Thus our
army has its own standard and universal battlefield-visualizing
platform with high performance/cost ratio and independent intellectual
property right. It is a significant beginning of our army applying
virtual reality, 3D visualizing and 3D battlefield modeling technologies
in battle commands and substantive progress toward modernization
and application of more scientific and technical advances.
This implementation applies the battlefield visualization technology,
the aircraft flying simulation technology, the collision evaluation
technology and the large scene management technology to 3D battlefield
modeling and visual simulation, providing solid foundations for
the virtualization and intelligentization of a variety of battle
command systems. This system will greatly improve the battle command
training, strategy studies and equipment performance analysis, and
greatly enhance the wide applications of virtual reality technology
to military fields, thus providing unprecedented vitality and energy
for the development of battle, training and weapon equipment of
our army.
