    IMAGIS Classic (3D Visualization Geographic Information System)

     IMAGIS, completely developed by Supresoft Inc., is a comprehensive visualization geographical      information system (GIS), which can process various data sets consisting Digital Orthophoto Maps      (DOM), Digital Elevation Models (DEM), Digital Line Graphics (DLG) and Digital Raster Graphics (DRG)      etc. It contains two main parts: a 3-dimentional geographical information system and a 2-dimensional      geographical editing system. Generally, 2D graphics after being processed in the plane editing system      can be imported into the 3D system to rebuild 3D entities, manage and define their attributes, query      and analyze the attributes, perform visualization operations etc. and finally output imagery.

Basic Functions

3D Modeling Tool :

IMAGIS provides a powerful 3D geometric modeling tool that enables users to generate varied complex 3D objects with some simple graphic elements, and to create different graphic elements such as lines filled region, text etc. in varied 3D landscape, automatic parameterized modeling, customized model library, abundant subassembly in model library, objects creation and storage (tree, lamp standard etc.), support pattern filling, support transparent texture, creation of complicated construction models, rendering in true color.

Spatial Data Editing :

Functions such as delete, move, copy and so on can be easily performed in the 3D landscape, and the 3D entities can be fast processed as a block for functions such as: zoom, rotation etc. It also can perform operations like texture paste and transparency control as well as batch replacing. IMAGIS can directly import the “.dxf” file with height information and generate 3D scene in batch and convert DEM from the third party with VirtuoZo DEM.

DEM Generation Based on Contours :

Generate DEM quickly with scanned map data or scanned vector data.

View Tools :

Perform operations like: Rotate, Zoom in/out, Translate, Change viewpoint, and Update in real time.Aerial view.

Visualization Tools :

Texture paste on 3D objects.True color rendering in 3D landscape, real-time shading, colors mixture and light source adjustment etc.Manage and display different data with different layers and provide flexible way of control, Real time roaming of 3D environment, Arbitrary zoom, shift, rotation of view, Perspective point and projection mode change, Shaded 3D landscape in true color, Route design for flying through or walking through, Data display by layer .

Rich Internal Data Types :

The system can manage electric network, pipe network, buildings, fields, roads, DEM and other entities. Users also can add data types to meet their requirements. Variety of spatial data input and output, Data format transformation, Multiple visual display functions.

Attribute Data Management :

Define attribute of 3D entities and provide functions of edit, query, browse, statistic analysis and extract attribute of objects.Provide flexible database maintenance including dynamic modification to database structure and records etc.Joint searching functions between graphics and corresponding attributes.Support interface with ODBC. SQL database query, ODBC database interface, Open data structure, Dynamic adding data type, 3D entity attribute definition, query, browse, Information statistic and analysis, Data publishing, browse, search via internet.

2D Graphic Edit System :

Provide a powerful 2D graphic edit system, which completely support various 2D GIS graphic data: line, polygon, annotation edit, Automatic insertion of 2D graphics, 2D GIS analysis, Graphic map vectorization, DEM extraction based on contours, Plotting large format of imagery with high resolution, map cut, annotation, decoration and output.

3D Spatial Query and Analysis :

Automatic profile generate in X, Y, or Z direction; Spatial distance measurement; Length measurement; Area calculation; Slope survey; Excavation and backfill analysis, earthwork calculation; Road design; Contour analysis; Slope analysis; Flood prediction analysis. Buffer analysis. Intervisibility analysis; Profile analysis; other combined query.

Data Exchange with Other Systems

  • The system supports data formats from other system like AutoCAD (R14) dxf, Arc/Info (E00), VirtuoZo, MapGis, ArcView and Mapinfo etc.
  • Import scanned graphics, vectorized and digitized raster files. It can output standard raster data such as BMP, JPG, TIFF, GIF etc, and also support VRML and MPG format output
  • Support graphics part-output and output by layers, and the graphics can be transferred to Windows' clipboard
  • It also supports any printer and plotter on Windows
